新西兰KiwiRail与海外公司签署一份价值3.71亿纽币的政府铁路合同，此举将让新西兰本地失去数百个工作岗位。

据悉，中标的两家公司是中资公司John Holland和南非的McConnell Dowell公司。参与竞标的新西兰本地企业在价格上更高一些，导致这两家海外企业竞标成功。

该工程是在奥克兰Papakura到Pukekohe两地之间修建电气化铁路，是KiwiRail耗资10亿纽币的奥克兰地铁计划的三个项目之一。

KiwiRail发言人Miller表示，他们的招标结果体现了合理高效的使用纳税人的钱进行城市建设。该工程的技术性和专业性很强，新西兰没有公司能够提供改项目所需的技术。
