ASB is the latest bank to announce its floating home loan interest rates will rise.
The move follows last week’s rise in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Te Pūtea Matua’s official cash rate (OCR) from 2.5% to 3%.
Kiwibank and ANZ announced last week they would lift their floating home loan rates.
ASB also said it would follow Kiwibank and ANZ in lifting deposit rates for savers.
For people with existing variable rate loans the date for the move will be September 1, while the rate on new variable rate loans will rise on August 25.
ASB said its revolving credit Orbit home loan rate would move from 6.45% to 6.95%.
