That large Huntly brick family home on a cliff-top in Beach Haven, Auckland was built by Garth and his wife Judy in 1971.
And here’s the thing – they clearly got it right, because they never felt the need to move, despite Garth being in the business of buying and selling houses; a business started by his father 100 years ago.

But now the family home has been listed after 53 years – Garth and Judy finally moved into a Ryman Healthcare apartment at the nearby Bert Sutcliffe Retirement Village last year.
In the meantime, the couple has been busy downsizing from the four-bedroom home, which is now ready for another family. And this is no small property – it spreads across 2901m², in two titles – 130 and 134 Island Bay Rd, Beach Haven.
